Former Wigan, Fulham and Hull star Jimmy Bullard believes Barcelona are the only team in Europe capable of beating Manchester City to this year’s Champions League title.
According to Metro Sports, Bullard told Soccer AM: ‘Man City will be happy [with the quarter-final draw]. I can’t see past them right now.
‘The only team City will be worried about is Barcelona. If you play Barca and [Lionel] Messi turns up, it’s goodnight. But I see City winning it.’
Former Arsenal and England defender Martin Keown also expects Manchester City, currently top of the Premier League, to triumph in Europe.
He told the Daily Mail: ‘All four ties are magnificent. It is great that we could have three English teams in the semi-finals.
‘I went for Manchester City to win the Champions League at the start of the season and I’m sticking with that prediction.
‘With City and Liverpool on opposite sides of the draw, there is still the prospect that they could meet in the final.
‘Already in an epic tussle for the Premier League title, they could end up battling each other to be crowned European champions.’
Guardiola, meanwhile, says Manchester City have ‘a lot of respect’ for their Champions League quarter-final opponents Tottenham.
Reacting to the draw, he said: ‘We know each other quite well, there is a lot of respect there.
‘We will try to arrive in the best condition possible. It is a pleasure to be in the quarter-finals.
‘We will travel to London. It is what it is. When you have four Premier League teams in the same draw you have the chance to play one of them.
‘I know quite well the quality of this team [Tottenham]. Hopefully we arrive at this game fit and healthy.
‘Every team has their strong points and weak points. We are strong in some areas and weak in other ones. It is what it is.’
